TNL ESPORTS BRAND TRACKER 010: CENTURYLINK AND MADDEN CLUB SERIES
The CenturyLink sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawk Madden Club Series was good to see another new company dip their toes in the eSports pool - but a fairly basic integration.
Like Gillette, they are stadium partners for the NFL franchises they advertised with, but unlike Gillette, they really didn’t seem to get involved with the sponsorship aside from some rotating banner ads in game.
Also unlike Gillette, both the Seahawks and Vikings championships did not take place in the home stadiums they sponsor - Vikings took place at Mall of America, Seahawks at Museum of Pop Culture.
Five of the eight championships took place on the home turf of the franchise, except the Vikings, Seahawks, (unrelated) the Bills.
It also included a few commercial slots during the Vikings Club Series Championship advertising their PrismTV brand,
But the only advertisements during the Seahawks Club Series was a rotating banner ad,
and a set of commercial slots used to promote events happening on the Centurylink Field rather than Prism or their services.
At least the Metallica concert looked like a great time.
