Dota 2 News – PRIES’ Dota 2 squad disbands due to internal turmoil

June 6, 2016 | 0 | 2901

Yesterday, team manager Alexandru “Sasha” Sîrbu has announced that the Dota 2 squad of PRIES Gaming has disbanded. The past few weeks have brought problems and turmoil within the team according to Sasha’s statement on PRIES’ official Facebook page. Alexandru “Sasha” Sîrbu was the co-founder of Romanian Dota 2 team Balkan Bears and was now managing the Dota 2 squad of PRIES Gaming.

PRIES Gaming is a Russian E-Sports organization with a Dota 2 team, a CS:GO team and one squad for Hearthstone and FIFA.

The Dota 2 squad came to existence on the 6th of October 2015 and it consisted of the former YeS roster, which at the time included: Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov. Rostislav “fn” Lozovoi. Shortly after, Artur “Goblak” Kostenko joined the squad as well.

Consecutive roster changes led to players leaving the squad and in February, after the departure of the former roster, PRIES has announced their new and final roster.

The European squad has dissolved, according to announcements made on the official Twitter and Facebook of PRIES Gaming. This recent event has been caused by team’s poor performance and internal tensions that ultimately lead to players alienating themselves from one another.

On Facebook, Alexandru “Sasha” Sîrbu stated that the past few weeks have brought tension within the ranks and lead to players distancing themselves from one another:

At the beginning there was good atmosphere in the team and guys performed very well. Unfortunately, some weeks ago began some problems within the team and players began to estrange. As a result – they decided to stop playing with each other for some time or to play for other teams as well

PRIES had a significant presence in many of the minor tournaments and regional qualifiers. The squad’s main goal was the Manila Major and the upcoming TI6, which sadly did not offer the wanted results, but overall, they had good placement results, comparatively to other teams from their tier. Their greatest achievement with this squad, dates back in April, where they finished 3rd in Elements Cup #1. Aside from that, PRIES’ initial roster managed to secure first place, two times at the Go4Dota 2 September and in December tournaments, respectively.

The last PRIES Dota 2 roster consisted of: Jimmy “supercell” Hoang, Ivailo “Mastermind” Petkov (captain), Max “Mikey” Barkö, Ivan “Bashruk” Valev and Kenny “KyH” Hoang.
