The Dota Pro Circuit 2021 season kicked off on January 20 and Valve has announced UI changes for the upcoming season. The latest Dota 2 update includes a completely revamped Watch Tab within the game client. In addition, the game developer has also revamped the almost-forgotten DPC app. The DPC app is available on Android and iOS.
The Watch tab in Dota 2 now shows professional teams’ current standings. The in-game client now displays a notification informing players when Dota 2 esports matches are live.
This notification will go a long way in getting more Dota 2 players to watch esports matches. Once you click the watch tab, there are further improvements in the section that gives a comprehensive overview of the current esports season.
Dota 2 players can see Twitch embeds in-game. They also have the option of watching the game live in DotaTV, where they can view player perspectives and use the free camera to customize their viewing experience.
The standings section shows the current standings of teams by region. There are six regions in the Dota Pro Circuit – North America, South America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China and Southeast Asia. The top teams from each region qualify to the playoffs of the next Major.
Dota 2 fans can also follow their favorite teams and not miss any of their matches. Later this month, Valve will introduce content packages featuring in-game effects, sprays, emotes, loading screens and chat-wheel lines. The participating teams have submitted the content for their individual packages, so fans can expect top quality content in these bundles.
In addition to the multiple new features in-game, Valve has also updated the DPC app. The newly updated app will allow players to follow their favorite teams and stay up to date with the DPC schedule.
