ESL Pro League Season 12 will take place from September 1 and October 6, 2020.
ESL Pro League Season 12 will comprise five regional tournaments. The tournament will represent all five regions in CS:GO. ESL had raised hopes of a LAN setting for ESL One Cologne and ESL Pro League if teams could travel together.
With global travel restrictions continuing into the second half of the year, ESL has had to move two of its biggest tournaments online. ESL One Cologne is currently underway with the world’s best CS:GO teams competing online. ESL Pro League Season 12 will also continue online.
ESL Pro League will have a massive $750,000 prize pool. The majority of this prize pool goes to the European division followed by North America. Here is the complete prize pool distribution by region for ESL Pro League Season 12.
“The agreement with GamingMalta enables us to offer an amazing setting to the worldwide esports community,” ESL CEO Ralf Reichert said in a statement. “Malta is a progressive country with its finger on the digital pulse combined with a beautiful Mediterranean ambient which partnered with us for a phenomenal 11th season of the world’s largest professional esports league in CS:GO. We couldn’t be more excited for this partnership to bring the growth of esports and beauty even more together.”
According to HLTV, ESL Pro League was also set to take place in Malta. However, the two parties have come to a mutual understanding to extend their partnership into 2021.
The 2021 ESL Pro League tournaments will feature the same tournament format agreed upon by the 13 partner teams in the Louvre agreement.
