This was an exciting Summer Split. On the backdrop of the ongoing dispute between Riot Games and several team owners, we saw some exciting matches and now the road to the World Championship is wide and open. Let’s see what happened this week in the LoL and eSports scene.

What’s a competition without player awards? There were four different awards to give: The LCS All-Pro Team, Coach of the Split, Rookie of the Split, and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.

TeamSoloMid is the NA LCS Summer Split Champion

TeamSoloMid defeated Cloud 9 3-1 yesterday Sunday and won the 2016 NA LCS Summer Split. TSM advance to the 2016 League of Legends World Championship as North America’s first seed. They are also the only team worldwide who have attended every single World Championship!

G2 eSports win the EU LCS Summer Split

G2 eSports is Europe’s first seed in the World Championship after defeating Splyce yesterday 3-1. This is the second straight split win for G2 eSports.

World Finals Teams

We still have the Regional Qualifiers before we know all the teams that will take part in the 2016 World Championship, but Riot Games has published a graphic with all the qualifying team so far. Seeding will be determined after the RQ are over, whereas each team’s pool will be drawn live during the Worlds Group Draw Show on September 10.
