Olofmeister has been one of the most popular names in CS:GO ever since he led Fnatic to the pole position in 2015. During the Fnatic era, Olofmeister was undoubtedly the best player in the world. Fnatic won the ESL One: Katowice and ESL One: Cologne 2015 with Olofmeister and this time was one of the most dominant eras in Counter-Strike.
After switching to FaZe Clan, Olofmeister had taken a break in 2019. He went on leave for three months, skipping five LAN events. However, FaZe Clan has been unable to recreate their 2016-18 success after Olof’s return. The player’s form has also seen a dip in recent months with an average of 0.9 over the past three months.
FaZe Clan is reportedly looking at Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras as a replacement for Olofmeister, according to a DBLTAP report. The sixteen-year-old player is relatively unknown in tier one Counter-Strike. He was a part of Team 1337HUANIA and has helped them win the Baltic Masters Season 3 Finals. Bymas had a 1.27 rating in the tournament drawing attention from top tier CS:GO pros.
FaZe Clan in-game leader, Niko, picked Bymas as his bold prediction for top 20 players of 2020.
“There’s this guy Bymas from FPL who really surprised me. I watched him a couple of times and I think he’s pretty good and a pretty versatile player. He’s not going to be in the Top 20 next year, but I believe he’s going to be a big thing. I believe he has the potential to make it to the top and do some good things.” – Niko to HLTV.
FaZe is yet to officially announce a replacement for Olofmeister. However, if the Bymas move comes true, then FaZe Clan’s CS:GO roster would be as follows:
Håvard “rain” Nygaard
Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
Marcelo “coldzera” David
Helvijs “broky” Saukants
Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras (trial)
Janko “YNk” Paunovi? (coach)
Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer (on a break)
FaZe Clan will play in Group C of the DreamHack Masters Spring EU event, so CS:GO fans can expect news very soon.
