The Secret is out – EternaLEnVy & MiSeRy talk about Secret’s shady management

Another wave of drama has engulfed the Dota 2 community. Former Team Secret players, Jacky ”EternaLEnVy” Mao and Rasmus ”MiSeRy” Filipsen, have recently disclosed shady business practices within Team Secret’s management: payment delays, undisclosed cuts from player’s incomes and a dark side of the team’s captain, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov.

Former Team Secret players, Jacky ”EternaLEnVy” Mao and Rasmus ”MiSeRy” Filipsen have recently spoken out against Team Secret’s allegedly shady management. Both players have decided to blow the whistle through their personal blogs, in which they discuss their over a year of difficulties receiving their fair share of tournaments prize money, as well as receiving verbal abuse and toxic behaviour from the team’s captain, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov.

EternaLEnVy was the first that shed some light on this, in his rather lengthy blog post. The pro player presented a rather grim tale of greed and lies, friendship and betrayal and portrayed devious individuals, who until now have been highly regarded by the Dota 2 community.

In his blog post, Jacky talks about how Team Secret’s management, has delayed due payments for over a year, promised salaries for that remained unpaid for months, made percentages cuts that were never discussed and failed to fulfil  streaming deals with Panda TV.

Noticed that not only did Puppey not uphold his end of the deal, but he didn’t even try. Streaming not 30 hours a month as promised but 12 hours in 3 months” EnVy says in his blog.

Among these accusations lies an even darker truth about the off-camera behaviour of Puppey. Backing with screenshots, EternaLEnVy highlights a polar opposite self of the beloved captain.
A lazy, hotheaded individual led the NA team through threats of violence upon disagreements and continued toxic attitude towards the majority of the Dota 2 scene, including his former or actual colleagues.

Allegedly, Puppey rarely showed up for practice hours, did not show for scheduled scrims during TI6 in favor of drinking nights and failed to accomplish his end of a sponsored streaming deal with PandaTV.

If you guys want to talk about who’s right or who’s wrong, why don’t we fight.

Described as an “egotistical and aggressive” person, with real anger management problems, Puppey was depicted as bully, finding violence as the ultimate way of solving any disputes or disagreements among team members. This attitude was highlighted in alleged incidents, between Puppey and Aliwi “w33ha” Omar that would often end up with Secret’s captain yelling “do you want to fight?”, “If you guys want to talk about who’s right or who’s wrong, why don’t we fight.” or even broken keyboards.

To back up these accusations EternaLEnVy relies on the word of his formed colleagues as well as a short clip, revealed to the public, which highlights an aggressive reaction coming from Puppey:

This isn’t the first scandal which centers Team Secret’s payment delays and various issues regarding the matter.Six months ago, Secret’s management was firstly called out by Evany Chang for delayed payments to their players.

Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen has also spoken out, backing Jacky’s claims, on his personal blog.

While Jacky’s original blog was taken down minutes after it’s initial posting, archives are still available here, while MiSeRy’s blog post can be found here.
