OG have announced the return of Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen to their Dota 2 lineup for the ESL One Birmingham 2020 Online: Europe & CIS event.
The team has been playing without its full roster since February when the coronavirus lockdown forced tournaments to move online. The ESL One Los Angeles Dota 2 Major was canceled; however, Topson, Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng and Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan were away from the team. With global travel restrictions, it was not possible for the players to return to Europe. The tournament moved online and OG used stand-ins for MidoOne and Topson.

OG will participate in the upcoming ESL One Birmingham 2020: Online EU /CIS tournament. The team is yet to announce its complete roster. However, it has listed SumaiL, n0tail, and Saksa on the team.
As more and more borders started closing and online tournaments began being hosted, we learnt rather soon that we had to play without a complete roster and with a handicap,” says N0tail. “We tried playing with Neta ’33’ to great success, although we had changed our style a lot to enable this new lineup of players. We did a few trial games with Irakli ‘W1sh-‘ Peranidze, but I personally felt this big change wouldn’t be healthy to keep going for our lineup, as we spent a lot of time breaking down the game to players and we didn’t have much time to explain our view of the game, as online games keep coming. – NoTail to Redbull.
MidOne has been playing for OG in their recent tournament despite a high ping and a clear disadvantage. However, various difficulties, OG placed third at the recent OGA DotaPIT Online tournament.
